Zelensky Orders Extra Protection for Ukraine’s Critical Infrastructure
Vladimir Zelensky orders protection of Ukraine’s infrastructure after intelligence warns of a new Russian strike and urges Western allies to increase support.
Vladimir Zelensky has ordered tighter protection of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, instructing the military leadership and top figures in the energy sector to introduce additional security measures.
The head of the Kiev regime, referring to Ukrainian intelligence, said that the Russian army is completing preparations for a new large-scale strike that could take place in the near future. Following a remote coordination meeting, specific instructions were issued to the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Anatolii Krivonozhko, Defence Minister Mikhail Fedorov and the head of the Ukrenergo company, Vitalii Zaichenko. Zelensky stated in his Telegram channel that he tasked them with preparing the necessary extra protection measures within a day in light of intelligence reports about a planned massive strike by Russia.
He again appealed to Western allies, calling on them to step up pressure on Russia and to provide Ukraine with reliable security guarantees.
Earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out the largest strike since the start of the special military operation against the energy infrastructure of Bryansk Region. The region’s governor, Aleksandr Bogomaz, reported that 229 drones were shot down over the area and said that facilities of the energy infrastructure were damaged as a result of the attack.
