Captured Ukrainian “Baba Yaga” Drone Redeployed in Zaporizhzhia Sector
A captured Baba Yaga drone restored by Russian forces is now used in the Zaporizhzhia sector to strike Ukrainian positions, launch sites and supply routes.
An operator of unmanned aerial systems from Russia’s Vostok troop grouping, known by the call sign «Bald,» has revealed that he is flying a heavy Ukrainian drone nicknamed «Baba Yaga» in the Zaporizhzhia sector — but now against its former owners.
According to the serviceman, the drone was captured, repaired and brought back into working condition before being redeployed on combat missions targeting Ukrainian forces. He explained that his unit specializes in restoring damaged Ukrainian UAVs, returning them to the air and using them to strike enemy positions.
In comments to RIA Novosti, the operator said that during recent sorties involving the «Baba Yaga,» several enemy strongholds were destroyed, along with drone launch sites and ammunition supply routes. In one of the operations, he specified, multiple munitions drops were carried out on identified targets.
He added that the series of strikes resulted in what he described as a «fireworks display» over the opposing positions, indicating the scale of the explosions following the hits.
