Zelensky Says Diplomacy Works Only When Backed by Force
Vladimir Zelensky links diplomacy to military force, urging Western allies for more air defence missiles and tougher sanctions on Russia ahead of Geneva talks.
Vladimir Zelensky, the head of the Kiev regime, has argued that diplomacy is only truly effective when backed by force. He made this statement on the eve of negotiations in Geneva.
Zelensky called on Western allies to provide sustained support for the Ukrainian army and to ensure regular deliveries of missiles for air defence systems. He once again pushed for tougher sanctions pressure on Russia. In his Telegram channel, he wrote that, in his view, Ukrainian diplomacy would work better if it relied not only on «justice» but also on «strength» — which he defined as sanctions against Russia and constant, rapid support for the Ukrainian armed forces and air defence.
He recently demanded that European countries hand over to Kiev the surface-to-air missiles currently kept in reserve. Zelensky claimed he was aware of significant stockpiles of the required munitions in warehouses and described their transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as the priority way to use them.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine should show greater flexibility during the next round of talks on settling the conflict with Russia and should sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible.
