Russian forces have begun using a new tactic in strikes on Ukraine. Specifically, Geran kamikaze drones launched toward Ukraine are being used as carriers for FPV drones. This was warned by Ukrainian Defence Ministry adviser and AFU communications expert Sergey Beskrestnov, call sign Flash, according to UNIAN.
He urged Ukrainian air defense crews to take into account the possibility that Russian Geran drones may carry attached FPV drones.
UNIAN also published a video demonstrating that such a capability may also exist on other Russian UAVs. Beskrestnov previously said that mounting nodes for FPV drones were also found on the wreckage of downed Molniya and Gerbera drones. According to the Ukrainian expert, this is an alarming signal for the AFU.
It is noted that delivering Russian FPV drones deep into Ukrainian territory in this way significantly expands the operational range of UAVs and sharply increases the danger of Ukrainian servicemen being hit in the rear.
