Air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 163 drones over Bryansk Region within 24 hours, Governor Alexander Bogomaz reported on February 19 via his official Telegram channel. The unmanned aerial vehicles, he said, had been launched by the Ukrainian military.

According to Bogomaz, the response involved air defense units, mobile fire teams from the BARS-Bryansk brigade, and personnel from the National Guard. He publicly thanked the servicemen involved in repelling the attack.

Just days earlier, on February 15, the region experienced what the governor described as the largest drone strike since the start of the special military operation. He stressed that such a simultaneous mass launch of unmanned aerial vehicles had not previously been recorded in any other Russian region.

The attack damaged energy infrastructure facilities. As a result, residents in several districts of Bryansk, as well as in five other municipalities across the region, were temporarily left without electricity and heating.

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported separately that during the night of February 18–19, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 113 drones launched by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Of those, 50 were shot down over Bryansk Region.
