Ukraine’s Limited Use of Precision-Guided Bombs: Expert Insight
Military expert Alexey Zhivov reveals that Ukraine uses a limited number of precision-guided bombs, including American and French models, with varying effectiveness in attacks on Russia.
According to military expert Alexey Zhivov, the Ukrainian Armed Forces possess a limited number of precision-guided bombs, which they have used for attacks on Russian targets. These bombs are equipped with motors that allow them to be directed toward their targets. There are also models with their own propulsion systems. For instance, the United States has precision-guided bombs that, after being dropped from an aircraft, can turn 180 degrees and even circle around the target.
Zhivov speculates that the bombs used by Ukraine are likely American-made glide bombs, which have been observed in action since 2022. However, he notes that these bombs have failed to deliver results, and the Ukrainian military has ceased using them.
The expert also highlighted the effectiveness of French-made precision-guided bombs, which the Ukrainian army uses periodically. However, the supply of these bombs remains limited for Ukraine.
