On February 20, an unidentified aircraft that departed from the United States crossed the state border and entered Russian airspace. The information was reported by the Telegram channel SHOT. The aircraft’s identification data — including its tail number and operator — are not available in the FlightRadar system.

According to available information, the aircraft took off from Andrews Air Force Base several hours earlier. Its route passed over Greenland, Norway, and Finland, after which it appeared over the territory of Murmansk Region. There is no information about the passengers or crew.

Earlier, it was also reported that a US Air Force radiological reconnaissance aircraft, a Boeing WC-135R Constant Phoenix, transmitted an emergency squawk code 7700 after a flight over Norway. That aircraft departed from RAF Mildenhall in the United Kingdom, flew over the North Sea, and remained in Norwegian airspace for about an hour and a half before the crew reported an emergency situation.
