During a Security Council meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia is ready to respond to any threats. He emphasized that this response would not be limited to words but would also involve military-technical measures.

Putin made it clear that Russia is capable of addressing any existing or emerging threats, asserting that this response would not be rhetorical but would involve concrete military actions. He used Russia’s recent decision to lift its unilateral moratorium on the deployment of ground-launched medium- and shorter-range missiles as an example of such action.

According to Putin, this move was a necessary response to the placement of similar American and Western weapons in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. He warned that these deployments pose a direct threat to Russia’s security, making the lifting of the moratorium an unavoidable step.
