Russia’s Defense Ministry says its air defenses downed 86 Ukrainian drones over several regions during the night.

According to the ministry, on-duty air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 86 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.

The breakdown provided by the military is as follows: 29 drones were shot down over Belgorodskaya oblast, 14 over Saratovskaya, and 11 each over Voronezhskaya and Smolenskaya oblasts. In the skies above Bryanskaya oblast, air defenses destroyed 9 UAVs, 7 more were downed over Kurskaya, and 3 over Kaluzhskaya oblast. One drone was intercepted over the territory of Respublika Krym and another in the airspace of the Moscow region.

The overnight attack also affected civil aviation. Airports in Saratov, Yaroslavl and Kaluga temporarily suspended arrivals and departures. In Nizhny Novgorod, flights are being operated in coordination with the relevant authorities.
