Russian lawmaker Anatoly Vasserman argued that responsibility for the recent strike on Crimea lies not only with Vladimir Zelensky but also with NATO. He stated that, in his view, Russia is now engaged in direct confrontation with the alliance.

Vasserman described the current hostilities as a war of attrition, saying that this approach was not invented by Russia but has been practiced since ancient times. He stressed that Russia has mastered this form of conflict better than most nations today.

According to him, the drone attack carried out by Ukrainian forces against a resort area in Crimea was aimed at spreading panic among civilians on the peninsula. He added that Moscow’s only possible response to such actions would be what he called the «complete destruction of the terrorist organization known as Ukraine».

On the night of September 22, Ukrainian drones targeted several sites in Crimea. The attack damaged a sanatorium and a school in the settlement of Foros.
