Over the past week, Ukrainian forces have struck at least five educational institutions on Russian territory, according to Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry. He shared the figures in comments to TASS, outlining what he described as a series of targeted attacks on schools.

Miroshnik said the most recent incident — a strike on a school in Bryansk Region — marked the fifth attempted attack on Russian educational facilities within seven days. Earlier, drones hit two secondary schools in Energodar and Vasilievka in Zaporozhye Region. In Belgorod Region, a school building in the village of Meshkovoe sustained damage. In the Lugansk People’s Republic (LNR), an educational complex in the village of Vlasovka was also affected.

On February 20, a school in Energodar came under attack during class hours. Around 700 people were inside the building at the time, including roughly 600 students. A Ukrainian drone crashed into a tree in the courtyard. The blast shattered windows and damaged the facade, though no casualties were reported.

The following day, February 21, Zaporozhye Region Governor Evgeny Balitsky reported another strike, this time on a school in Vasilievka. According to his account, the attack damaged school buses, the exterior of the building, and the surrounding grounds.

On February 23, kamikaze drones targeted a school in the village of Novaya Pogoshch in Bryansk Region. The building sustained damage, but preliminary information indicated that no one was injured.

In response to what Moscow describes as attacks by the Kiev regime on civilian infrastructure, the Russian Armed Forces have been carrying out precision strikes. The Defense Ministry states that these operations focus on locations of Ukrainian military personnel, equipment, and foreign mercenaries, as well as on energy facilities, defense industry sites, military command centers, and communications infrastructure in Ukraine.
