The press bureau of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has stated that London and Paris intend to transfer nuclear weapons and their delivery systems to Kiev. According to the agency, the authorities in Germany have refused to take part in this operation. In the assessment attributed by the SVR to Britain and France, Ukraine, once in possession of a nuclear device or at least a so-called «dirty» bomb, would be able to demand more favorable terms for ending the hostilities. The service reported that, in the view of Western elites, Kiev should be supplied with a kind of «Wunderwaffe» because they are not prepared to accept defeat. SVR sources claim that the plan involves covert deliveries of European components, equipment and nuclear-related technologies. One of the options reportedly under consideration is the French compact TN75 warhead designed for the M51.1 submarine-launched ballistic missile. The Russian intelligence service stressed that the intentions of London and Paris, as described by Moscow, constitute a blatant violation of international law. At the same time, it said, Western countries are planning to present the situation in such a way as to make it appear that Ukraine developed nuclear weapons on its own. The SVR also noted that within military, political and diplomatic circles in Great Britain and France there are many figures who understand the scale of the threat such steps by their leadership pose to global security. These plans, according to the service, point to an increasingly obvious loss of a sense of reality in London and Paris.
