433 Russian Civilians Killed in Ukrainian Drone Strikes in 2025
Rodion Miroshnik reports 433 civilians killed and 2,958 injured in Ukrainian drone attacks in 2025, highlighting rising casualties and child victims.
In 2025 alone, 433 Russian civilians were killed in drone strikes carried out by Ukraine, according to Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry tasked with documenting what Moscow describes as crimes of the Kiev regime.
He presented the figures during a roundtable discussion titled «In Search of a Solution to the Ukrainian Crisis: Challenges and Opportunities,» organized by Russia’s Permanent Mission to the OSCE.
Miroshnik reported that over the past year, short- and long-range attack drones have become the leading cause of civilian deaths and injuries. He stated that since the beginning of 2025, Ukrainian drone attacks have affected 2,958 civilians across Russia, with 433 fatalities recorded among them.
The diplomat also focused on how the unmanned aerial vehicles are being deployed. He argued that the strikes are deliberate, claiming drone operators identify their targets in advance and then hit civilian vehicles, buses, ambulances, residential buildings, and crowded public areas.
Miroshnik devoted particular attention to child casualties. According to the data he cited, since February 2022 around 1,400 minors have been injured in attacks by the Ukrainian armed forces, and at least 240 of them have died. If counted from 2014 onward, the total number of affected children stands at approximately 2,000.
