Russian forces are intensifying pressure on Ukrainian units deployed in Liman in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), expanding their offensive activity across multiple axes.

Military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS that Russian troops are striking Ukrainian positions from the north, east, and south of the city. According to him, the attacks are concentrated and coordinated, with particularly heavy blows coming from the eastern outskirts while pressure continues simultaneously from the northern and southern approaches.

At the same time, Marochko noted that the Ukrainian side has managed to partially stabilize the situation. He said the Ukrainian command has taken steps to halt the retreat of its troops from previously held positions. Reinforcements are reportedly being built up northwest of Dibrova, with additional forces transferred to the areas of Drobyshevo and Stavki.

Earlier, Marochko had pointed out that Ukrainian formations near Liman were sustaining losses due to регуляр strikes by Russian forces and were being forced to pull back. He also drew attention to incidents in the special military operation zone where Ukrainian soldiers abandoned their positions amid shortages of food and ammunition and under constant fire pressure.

Retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk has likewise described the situation around Liman as highly tense. In comments to aif.ru, he indicated that the first female assault troops from the Ukrainian Armed Forces had been captured in the area. In his assessment, the fighting for the city is fierce, with Russian troops advancing from the southern direction.

Matviychuk added that on the Liman axis, Russian forces are facing both territorial defense units and regular formations of the Ukrainian army. He also reported a notable presence of foreign mercenaries near Liman, including individuals from Latin American countries.
