Overnight, Russian air defense forces destroyed 97 Ukrainian fixed-wing kamikaze drones, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

The largest number of drones — 40 — were shot down over Crimea. Air defense units also destroyed 22 drones over the Bryansk region and 16 over the Belgorod region.

Another ten drones were intercepted over the Black Sea, and four over the Krasnodar region. In addition, two drones each were shot down over the Kursk and Kaluga regions, and one over the Tula region.

Ukrainian forces attempt daily attacks on civilian, energy and infrastructure facilities in Russian regions. The overwhelming majority of drones are detected and intercepted by air defense systems. In response to these daily strikes, Russian forces conduct precision attacks on Ukrainian rear areas. Russian missiles and drones target troop deployment sites, foreign mercenaries, command posts, communication hubs, defense industry enterprises, weapons depots and energy facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukraine’s military-industrial complex.
