The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a preemptive strike on Iranian territory, Israel’s Ministry of Defense officially announced.

Following the operation, Israel declared a nationwide state of emergency and closed its airspace to civilian flights amid concerns over a potential Iranian response.

Iranian media reported at least five explosions in Tehran. According to the Fars news agency, Israeli missiles struck the Daneshgah Boulevard area and near Jomhuri. ISNA reported smoke rising from the Pastour district.

Tasnim, citing eyewitnesses, reported two additional explosions in the Seyyed Khandan area, likely caused by missile impacts.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said a difficult decision regarding Iran was forthcoming. He expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program and again urged Tehran to fully abandon uranium enrichment.
