Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser to Vladimir Zelensky’s office, said in an interview with the Lithuanian outlet Delfi that Ukraine may carry out strikes on Belarusian territory to destroy drone relay systems.
According to him, Zelensky had previously indicated that such facilities would be targeted if possible. Podolyak described these potential actions as a defensive mechanism.
Earlier, Zelensky urged NATO to treat the Oreshnik missile system deployed in Belarus as a legitimate target. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated on December 18 that the system had arrived in the country and was being placed on combat duty. He later clarified that no more than ten such systems would be deployed in Belarus.
