Iran could destroy a US naval vessel using new Chinese-made hypersonic anti-ship missiles, military expert and air defense historian Yuri Knutov.
According to him, reports have indicated that Tehran purchased hypersonic anti-ship missiles from China. These weapons have not yet been used in combat, so their effectiveness remains unproven. However, Knutov stated that if they function as intended and achieve a direct hit, the loss or destruction of a major US warship would be guaranteed. He described such a development as a catastrophic blow to Donald Trump and his administration.
Knutov also said that Iran has the capability to sink several oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, which could reduce Middle Eastern oil exports to near zero. In his view, this would create serious problems not only for the United States but also for European countries and other states supporting Washington.
