The Russian Ministry of Defence reported that overnight, air defence systems destroyed 27 Ukrainian drones over several Russian regions.

The Ministry clarified that, during the night, air defence forces intercepted and eliminated 27 Ukrainian UAVs of the aircraft type. The drones were shot down in various regions, including eight over Bryansk, seven over Belgorod and Kursk, two over Tula and Oryol, and one over Rostov.

Earlier, a fire broke out at an oil refinery in the Kanevskoy district of Krasnodar Territory due to the debris from a downed UAV. Preliminary reports indicate that there were no casualties. Emergency and special services were working at the site.

It should be noted that drone attacks on Russian regions have been escalating since 2022. In August 2023, Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to the Ukrainian President’s office, stated that the number of UAV strikes on Russia would continue to rise.
