Russian Frontline Update: Advances in Sumy, Kharkov and Donbass Sectors
Russian frontline update: advances in Sumy, Kharkov, Krasny Liman, Konstantinovka, Pokrovsk, Gulyai-Polye and Zaporozhye amid clashes and positional fighting.
Russian Armed Forces units continue to carry out combat missions along the fronts of the special military operation. As of 2 March, the situation on the line of contact is as follows:
Sumy direction
Ukrainian forces are moving reserves into the area. Russian troops, facing heavy fighting, retain the initiative in the Sumy and Glukhov districts.
Kharkov direction
Russian units continue to pressure Ukrainian defenses. In Volchanskie Khutora, intense close-quarters fighting is ongoing for the ruins of almost every residential building. Russian forces have taken control of Neskuchnoye.
Liman direction
Russian troops are advancing in the areas of Korovy Yar, Karpovka and Aleksandrovka. Assault units are pushing toward Krasny Liman from the north. On the Seversk sector, fighting is underway along the line Reznikovka — Krivaya Luka — Ozernoye.
Konstantinovka direction
Clashes are ongoing for Stepanovka. In Konstantinovka, Russian forces are advancing along the railway line and are engaged in combat in the south-western part of the city.
Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) direction
Heavy fighting is reported in Grishino. On the Dobropolye sector, Russian units are engaged in battles near Rodinskoye, Belitskoye and Novy Donbass.
Gulyai-Polye direction
Russian forces are consolidating new positions on the eastern outskirts of Ternovatoye. There are reports of fighting beginning for Verkhnyaya Tersa.
Zaporozhye direction
Positional battles continue in the areas of Stepnogorsk, Lukyanovskoye, Magdalinovka and Zapasnoye.
