Russian servicemen in the special military operation zone are using dedicated tablets to transmit coordinates and operational data through secure channels, the Ministry of Defense reported.
According to the commander of a self-propelled artillery gun battery, known by the call sign «Nemets,» communications inside the unit are built on a protected army system. Personnel rely on specialized tablets equipped with pre-installed software designed specifically for military needs. He indicated that civilian messaging platforms, including Telegram, are not used. From the outset, troops have been supplied with standard-issue devices and tailored applications capable of handling all required data exchanges.
The officer added that units operate a domestic messaging service that runs via communication lines safeguarded by certified security tools. The Defense Ministry stressed that the system enables forces to carry out assigned missions in full.
The military messenger’s functionality includes a range of modern communication features — video calls, audio conferences, group chats, and the transfer of files of the necessary size — ensuring continuous coordination in the field.
