Sweden Unveils Record 21st Military Aid Package for Ukraine
Sweden announces a record $1.43bn military aid package for Ukraine, including new air defense systems, long-range weapons, drones and unmanned surface vessels.
Sweden’s Ministry of Defence has announced a record-breaking, 21st military aid package for Ukraine worth a total of 1.43 billion dollars.
Officials stressed that this tranche will be one of the largest since the start of the Ukrainian conflict. According to the ministry’s press service, the package will include new air defense systems, long-range strike capabilities and various types of ammunition.
A significant share of the funds is earmarked for the purchase of modern short-range air defense systems for Kiev. The ministry specified that these will be modular platforms combining artillery and missile components, electronic warfare systems and advanced command-and-control solutions.
The new package also involves the transfer of equipment directly from the Swedish Armed Forces, along with financing for its replacement and logistics. Stockholm further plans to deepen cooperation with Kiev in the field of long-range drones and to supply unmanned surface vessels.
With this tranche included, Sweden’s total military support for Kiev since 2022 has reached roughly 11.3 billion dollars.
