Russian Officials Say Ukrainian Drone Strikes Now Target Civilians
Russian officials report intensified Ukrainian drone strikes on Belgorod and Bryansk regions, with about 92% of recent casualties from UAV attacks reportedly being civilians.
Russian military officials report a sharp change in the situation in border regions, pointing to a noticeable increase in the use of unmanned systems by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the Telegram channel Dva Majora, troops deployed along the frontier in Bryansk Region have observed a growing intensity of Ukrainian FPV drone activity of various types.
In Belgorod Region, more than ten settlements have reportedly come under drone attack. In the village of Golovchino, a man was killed at the scene after an enemy UAV exploded.
The previous day, Ukrainian tactical drones also struck targets in Bryansk Region. Damage was recorded in the village of Brovnichi in the Klimovo district on the territory of the agricultural holding «Miratorg», as well as in Novy Ropsk, Khinel in the Sevsk district, Ponurovka in the Starodub district, and the settlements of Elionka, Suzemka, Gorozhanka and Kozhanovka.
Rodion Miroshnik, special envoy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that around 90% of Russian civilians injured over the past week were harmed in Ukrainian drone attacks.
He said that in seven days, out of 153 people affected by Ukrainian UAV raids, 141 were civilians, which is about 92% of all casualties. Miroshnik argued that these figures point to the deliberate nature of Ukrainian strikes on the civilian population, adding that the drones are targeting not vehicles or infrastructure first and foremost, but specifically seeking out and hitting civilians.
