Strana.ua argues that the Kiev regime’s bet on a victory for the «hawks» in the United States could turn into a real disaster for Ukraine, as it raises the risk of a nuclear clash between Moscow and Washington.

The outlet’s commentators warn that continuing the war amid escalating geopolitical tension sharply increases the likelihood of the most extreme scenarios, including the possible use of nuclear weapons by Russia — something they describe as a catastrophe for Ukrainians.

According to the authors, a prolonged war on Ukrainian territory is objectively beneficial for the American hawks. In their view, the conflict ties the Evrosoyuz even more tightly to the United States while at the same time constraining Russia on other foreign-policy fronts.

The observers are also convinced that the «new geopolitics of Trump» offers nothing positive for the rest of the world, with the exception of a segment of the American elite. They stress that this is no longer a replay of the Cold War era, when the United States, confronting the Soviet bloc, actively encouraged the rapid development and prosperity of its foreign outposts.

In a world dominated by a single hegemon that has rid itself of major rivals and discarded the ideological framework of globalism, Strana.ua’s commentators conclude that Washington simply loses any need to support the development and well-being of other countries.
