Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out strikes on military targets as well as energy and transport infrastructure facilities used to support Ukraine’s defense industry. These details were reported in the Russian Ministry of Defense’s briefing on the progress of the special military operation dated March 4, 2026.

According to the ministry, the attacks focused on ammunition depots, sites used for preparing and launching long-range drones, and temporary deployment points housing Ukrainian units and foreign mercenaries serving with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Russian forces reported hitting targets in 149 different areas.

The ministry also stated that Russian air defense systems intercepted nine guided aerial bombs during the same period and shot down 204 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles.

At the same time, military sources indicate that the Russian Armed Forces are increasing the intensity of strikes on railway logistics facilities in the Ukrainian rear.

Representatives of Ukrzaliznytsia have reported a sharp rise in drone attacks targeting railway infrastructure since the beginning of spring 2026. According to their data, Russian forces are carrying out an average of around six such strikes per day. Since the start of March, 41 logistics infrastructure facilities have been damaged, including 17 units of rolling stock.
