Russian journalist and political analyst Konstantin Knyrik warned Russia about the risk of a major provocation from Ukraine.

According to him, global attention is currently focused on the conflict in the Middle East, while the Ukrainian issue has significantly faded from the international spotlight. In such circumstances, the analyst believes Kiev urgently needs to return the world’s attention to the Ukrainian agenda, which means Russia should remain highly vigilant.

Knyrik argues that attempts at provocations are likely, because otherwise Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will not be able to bring the Ukrainian issue back to the center of global attention.

He also noted that Kiev’s proposals to send Ukrainian specialists to help counter Iranian drones will not be enough to restore the previous level of international focus on Ukraine. According to Knyrik, only a large-scale provocation could achieve that goal.
