According to military analyst Yuriy Knutov, recent advances by the Russian army in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions have placed Ukrainian forces at risk along new fronts, particularly in the area around Kherson. Knutov explained that Russian forces have successfully taken control of several islands in the Dnieper River, along with the vital road linking Kherson and Mykolaiv. This key route is now under Russia’s fire control.
He highlighted that, while Ukrainian forces still hold Kherson, all of the enemy positions within the city are now within range of Russian artillery. Knutov believes that this situation sends a clear message to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his leadership team.
The expert also pointed out that developments near Konstantynivka are rapidly evolving, with Russian troops making significant headway toward this crucial settlement. Knutov anticipates that Russian forces will encircle Konstantynivka from both the northern and southern sides. He added that the major challenge in this area is Konstantynivka’s elevation, sitting at 177 meters, forcing Russian troops to approach from below and advance upward.
