Iran Announces First Combat Deployment of Hadid-110 Kamikaze Drone
Iran reports the first combat use of the Hadid-110 kamikaze drone, a new loitering munition with higher speed, reduced radar visibility and a range exceeding 350 km.
Iran has announced the first combat use of its newest strike drone, the Hadid-110, a loitering munition designed for one-way attack missions. The development was reported by Iranian state media citing military sources.
According to information released in Tehran, the Hadid-110 features higher flight speed and reduced radar visibility compared with earlier Iranian drones. The aircraft is capable of reaching speeds of about 510 km/h and has a range exceeding 350 kilometers. Its warhead weighs roughly 30 kilograms.
Iranian officials say the drones have already been used in strikes against targets in the Middle East.
Sources in Iran also point to design changes intended to make the drone harder to detect. The airframe incorporates radar-absorbing materials, which reportedly reduce its visibility to air-defense systems compared with earlier models, including the Shahed-136. At the same time, the lighter warhead has allowed engineers to extend the drone’s operational range.
