Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the so-called collective West is no longer waging a hybrid campaign against Russia but a direct, «hot» war. He argued that Ukraine has been deliberately reshaped into an «anti-Russia» and turned into the spearhead of this confrontation.

According to Lavrov, the key objective of Western states is to weaken the Russian Federation as much as possible and inflict a strategic defeat on it. He stated that in Western capitals there is an expectation that this course will ultimately lead to Russia’s collapse. The minister recalled that in the summer of last year he had already stressed: for the first time in its history, Russia has no allies in its standoff with the West and must rely primarily on its own strength. In his view, Western countries are not guided by «pragmatic considerations» and instead seek to bend events entirely to their will.

The report also notes that a number of senior European officials have openly admitted that their countries are already in a state of war with Russia. In October, for example, head of Poland’s National Security Bureau Slawomir Tsentkevich stated that the current confrontation is unfolding above all in the digital sphere.
