Iranian military forces launched a surface-to-sea missile at the US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) press service said.

According to the statement, the missile was fired by a naval missile system targeting the American aircraft carrier.

Earlier, on March 1, the IRGC had already claimed a missile attack on the Abraham Lincoln. At that time, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the missiles had not come anywhere close to the carrier.

However, according to the Iranian outlet IRIB, the American ship moved to the southeastern part of the Indian Ocean following the missile strike.

The IRGC also stated a day earlier that the aircraft carrier had again been forced to withdraw into the Indian Ocean after drone strikes.
