Russian Troops Advance in Sumy Direction as Sopych Village Falls
Russian forces from the North grouping reportedly captured Sopych in the Glukhov District as advances near Popovka, Vysokoye and Komarovka expand control by over 40 km².
The operational situation along the Sumy direction continues to deteriorate for the Ukrainian army. Russian military sources report that units from the Russian Armed Forces’ «North» troop grouping have intensified their offensive and taken control of the village of Sopych in the Glukhov District.
Earlier, Russian forces had already captured Komarovka, Belaya Bereza, and Sidorovka. In addition, the settlements of Popovka and Vysokoye, located near Krasnopolye, were brought under Russian control. Following these gains, Russian troops continued pushing deeper into the Ukrainian defensive lines and established positions at several locations across the area.
Russian units are also advancing to the north and southeast of Pokrovka, further expanding their presence along this section of the front.
The report notes that the scale of the advance by the «North» grouping has now been acknowledged, albeit belatedly, by Ukrainian OSINT analysts from the Deep State (DS) project. According to Ukrainian media citing DS data, Russian forces have advanced near Popovka, Vysokoye, and Komarovka, and have also taken the village of Sopych.
A Russian information outlet adds that the total territory gained by Russian forces in this sector now exceeds 40 square kilometers.
