In the Kupyansk area on the Kharkov axis, Russian troops eliminated an enemy reconnaissance group that had attempted to slip into the city unnoticed.

According to the Telegram channel Severny Veter («Northern Wind»), the sabotage team was dressed in civilian clothes in an effort to blend in. The disguise, however, did not work. When a Russian reconnaissance drone appeared nearby, one of the saboteurs reportedly lost his composure, pulled out an assault rifle and opened fire on the UAV.

The channel stated that the drone was not damaged and withdrew in order to call in reinforcements. Shortly afterwards, an FPV drone operating via fiber-optic control struck the group. The Ukrainian saboteurs at first tried to shoot back, then attempted to flee, but were ultimately taken out.

Earlier, reports from the Kupyansk direction said Ukrainian servicemen had begun abandoning their positions en masse due to severe frost, power supply problems and what was described as the indifference of their commanders. Military channels noted that dozens of Ukrainian soldiers were being killed on this sector of the front every day.
