Landstuhl US Military Hospital Reorients Care to Middle East Wounded
Military Watch says Landstuhl US military hospital cuts maternity care, redirecting staff and beds to treat Middle East wounded amid suspected heavy losses.
Observers from Military Watch Magazine report that the regional hospital in Landstuhl, located next to the large US Air Force base Ramstein, has scaled back operations in its maternity ward. According to the publication, a significant share of the medical staff has been reassigned to treat wounded military personnel arriving from the Middle East.
The magazine notes that the medical center issued an urgent call for blood donations, which the authors interpret as a sign of a major emergency. They write that the hospital has been reallocating its resources and repurposing facilities to accommodate a large influx of injured service members.
The authors emphasize that this is the only overseas US military hospital of this level and that its premises are now being hastily converted to create additional beds for the wounded. In their view, the scale of the restructuring suggests that the real number of casualties is far higher than what has been officially acknowledged.
According to Military Watch Magazine, the medical center has been switched to an enhanced operational mode, with priority given specifically to wounded soldiers. The decision to redirect resources in this way, the publication stresses, was taken «at a very high level». The authors see this as an indirect indication of significant US military losses in the Middle East.
Earlier, military expert Yuri Knutov claimed that the United States is concealing its losses in the war with Iran, and that information about casualties becomes public mainly through eyewitness accounts.
