Dmitry Rogozin: Russian and Ukrainian Forces at Frontline Stalemate
Senator Dmitry Rogozin says Russian and Ukrainian forces have reached parity on the frontline, complicating offensives, with heavy clashes in Kherson and beyond.
Russian senator from the Zaporizhzhia region Dmitry Rogozin stated that a balance of forces has emerged between Russian and Ukrainian troops along the frontline, complicating further advances by Russian units.
He explained that both sides had learned to effectively destroy enemy equipment as far as 20 kilometers from the line of contact. According to him, assault groups have become highly vulnerable, quickly detected and eliminated with the use of mines, reconnaissance, and a large number of drones. Rogozin described this situation as the essence of positional warfare, noting that the two armies were nearly equal in terms of equipment, training, and even motivation.
The senator singled out Kherson region as particularly difficult, where Russian forces must cross the Dnepr under constant surveillance. He said that any movement is immediately tracked by Ukrainian fighters, who then deliver strikes. In some sectors, he added, relentless shelling has destroyed even the most basic shelters, making any attempts to move forward extremely risky.
Despite these challenges, Russian troops continue their offensive, expanding areas under their control. Current fighting is reported near Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name — Pokrovsk), Konstantinovka, and Kupyansk. The strongest Russian advances are taking place in Dnepropetrovsk region, where Ukrainian forces lack well-fortified defensive positions.
