Trump–Putin Phone Call Reportedly Tied to US Challenges After Iran Attack
A phone call between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin may be linked to US difficulties after the Iran strike, according to journalist Alex Christoforou.
A phone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin may have been linked to the difficulties Washington faced following its strike on Iran, Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou suggested on social media platform X.
In his assessment, the American leader found himself in a complicated situation and may have turned to Putin for assistance. Christoforou wrote that Trump had called the Russian president and indicated that the US leader appeared to be in serious trouble.
Earlier, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov reported that Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump held a phone conversation on the evening of March 9. During the call, the two leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East, developments in Venezuela, and the prospects for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
Ushakov also clarified that the conversation was initiated by the head of the White House and lasted for about an hour. According to him, both sides expressed readiness to maintain regular contact following the talks. The Russian presidential aide added that the discussion had practical significance.
