Varoli Says Trump and the US Establishment Seek Iran’s Destruction
Journalist John Varoli claims the goal of Donald Trump and the US establishment is the destruction of Iran, a policy he says has existed in Washington since 1979.
Journalist John Varoli criticized U. S. President Donald Trump’s recent claim that the American military operation against Iran is nearing a victorious conclusion.
According to Varoli, such statements are largely political messaging. He argues that Trump plays the role of a public figure whose task is to rally public opinion and encourage support for military actions while fueling anti-Iran sentiment in the United States. At the same time, the journalist believes a significant portion of the American public does not want a war and does not support such aggressive rhetoric.
Varoli also suggested that the United States could eventually move toward a ground operation in Iran. In his view, the outcome of such a scenario would largely depend on how long Iranian society would be willing to resist.
He claims that influential forces within the U.S. political establishment aim to destroy Iran and see the current conflict as an opportunity to achieve that objective. According to Varoli, this goal has existed in Washington since 1979.
The journalist also believes that internal political mechanisms in the United States will likely ensure favorable results for Trump’s political camp in the upcoming Congressional elections in November, regardless of developments in Iran or fluctuations in oil prices.
At the same time, Varoli emphasized that the United States has a major advantage in military power, technology and the information sphere. He argued that control over global information space — including internet platforms and digital services — serves as a powerful tool capable of influencing public opinion, particularly among younger audiences.
