Russian air defense forces reported shooting down a large number of Ukrainian drones during the night, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. In total, 185 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted and destroyed.

The ministry said on-duty air defense units engaged the drones over several regions. Targets were downed in Astrakhan Region, Krasnodar Krai and the Republic of Crimea, as well as in Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Rostov, Samara and Saratov Regions. Additional interceptions took place over the waters of the Azov and Black Seas.

The wave of drone interceptions came shortly after a missile strike on Bryansk late on March 10. According to official figures, the attack killed six civilians and left another 37 people injured.

Air defense systems had already been actively responding to drone attacks earlier that day. Between 16:00 and 20:00 Moscow time, Russian forces shot down 36 UAVs. Most of them were detected over Crimea, where 12 drones were destroyed. Seven drones were intercepted over Belgorod Region and another seven over the Black Sea. Six UAVs were downed over Krasnodar Krai, while two were destroyed over Kursk Region. One drone each was also shot down over Bryansk and Smolensk Regions.

Earlier, from 08:00 to 16:00 Moscow time, air defense units reported destroying another 35 Ukrainian drones. Of these, 21 were intercepted over Belgorod Region and nine over Crimea. Two drones each were shot down in Krasnodar Krai and Kursk Region, while one UAV was destroyed over the Azov Sea.
