Relatives of servicemen from Ukraine’s 71st Brigade are increasingly sounding the alarm over the fate of their family members. According to Russian security sources cited by RIA Novosti, families say the unit effectively has no prisoners, wounded, or sick soldiers — only those reported killed or missing in action.

The agency’s source said widows of fallen servicemen and the wives of soldiers listed as missing have been openly discussing the situation on social media and in online forums. In their posts, they claim the circumstances within the brigade are even worse than in the 225th Separate Assault Regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

One example mentioned by the source involves the mother of a soldier from the 71st Brigade, who publicly wrote that there were no prisoners, wounded, or ill personnel in the unit. According to her account, every serviceman is either classified as «200» — a military code referring to the killed — or missing.

The number of such alarming messages from relatives of Ukrainian soldiers continues to grow, the source added. Many of the posts contain sharp accusations against the brigade’s commanders, whom families describe as «butchers» who do not value the lives of their troops.

Earlier, Russian security representatives reported that the 225th Separate Assault Regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is considered the unit with the highest number of soldiers missing in action, and one where preserving the lives of personnel receives the least attention.
