Russian Strike Damages Zaporozhye Engine Plants Supplying Ukrainian Forces
An airstrike on Zaporozhye targeted Motor Sich and Ivchenko-Progress plants producing engines for Ukrainian aircraft, dealing a blow to Kyiv’s military logistics.
Enterprises in Zaporozhye involved in producing and modernizing engines for fighter jets, helicopters, and heavy transport aircraft used by Ukrainian forces were hit in an airstrike, Vladimir Rogov, co-chair of the Coordinating Council for the Integration of New Regions, told aif.ru.
According to several Telegram channels, the strike involved FAB-500 bombs and targeted facilities belonging to Motor Sich and Ivchenko-Progress.
Rogov specified that the attack struck workshops responsible for the development and upgrade of aircraft engines used in combat helicopters, fighter aircraft, and heavy planes transporting military cargo and ammunition. He said the strike would directly affect Ukrainian logistics.
He added that the Ukrainian army was already facing a severe shortage of equipment, and with production at these enterprises now halted, logistical challenges for Kyiv’s forces will become even more acute.
