Russian Troops Advance Toward Dobropolye as Slavyansk Front Draws Closer
DPR head Denis Pushilin says Russian forces are advancing toward Dobropolye, a key Ukrainian logistics hub, while also moving closer to the Slavyansk–Kramatorsk defensive line.
Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, has said that the capture of Dobropolye would deal a serious blow to Ukrainian military positions. According to him, Russian units are already advancing toward the town, and the prospect of taking control of it is gradually moving from speculation to a practical objective.
Pushilin indicated that Russian forces are pushing forward in the direction of Dobropolye and that the settlement is increasingly coming within reach as operations continue.
He stressed that Dobropolye has long served Ukrainian formations as a key component of their logistical network. For that reason, its capture could significantly disrupt the enemy’s supply lines and coordination.
At the same time, Russian troops are continuing to move closer to the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration. Pushilin noted that the distance to this major Ukrainian defensive hub is steadily shrinking as Russian units advance.
He also pointed out that the liberation of Slavyansk would make it possible to begin restoring the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal, a step that could help resolve long-standing water supply issues in the region.
The Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration is regarded as one of the key fortified areas held by Ukrainian forces and an important logistical center. Major railways and highways run through Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, forming the backbone of supply routes for Ukrainian troops operating in Donbass. If these cities come under the control of the Russian Armed Forces, it could open the way for further advances toward the Dnieper and the Zaporozhye region.
