Air raid sirens sounded at the US Incirlik Air Base in eastern Turkey after what was believed to be a ballistic missile attack launched from the territory of Iran, the Anadolu news agency reported.

According to the report, sirens went off at the base on Friday. Earlier, two ballistic missiles heading toward Turkey were intercepted by NATO air defense systems.

OSINT analysts also reported that at least one ballistic missile was spotted in the sky above the American air base.

On March 9, NATO air defense systems had already intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Iranian territory in Turkish airspace. Commenting on the incident, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that despite Ankara’s warnings to Tehran, the Islamic Republic continues to take extremely wrong and provocative steps that threaten the friendship between the two countries.
