On the night of March 15, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 170 Ukrainian drones, including 20 targeting Moscow. The defense ministry confirmed that from 9:00 PM on March 14 to 7:00 AM on March 15, 170 Ukrainian UAVs of aircraft type were destroyed by the duty air defense forces.

The ministry specified that these drones were shot down over several Russian regions, including Tver, Bryansk, Belgorod, Kaluga, Kursk, Smolensk, Tula, Rostov, Volgograd, and Saratov regions. In addition, drones were destroyed over the Krasnodar Krai, Adygea, Crimea, the Black Sea area, and Moscow Region.

In Rostov region, a large-scale air attack was successfully repelled the day before. The region’s governor, Yuri Slyusari, reported that about 40 drones targeted the cities of Millerovo, Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Novoshakhtinsk, Shakhty, as well as the western outskirts of Rostov-on-Don, and nine districts: Tarasovsky, Chertkovsky, Bokovsky, Kasharsky, Miasnikovsky, Neklinovsky, Tatsinsky, Milyutinsky, and Belokalitvinsky.

Meanwhile, in the Soviet district of Volgograd, one of the enemy drones struck an apartment building. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, but some apartments suffered damage to their windows.
