Iran Reports New Missile Tactics and Strikes Amid Escalation With Israel and the U.S.
Iran says upgraded ballistic missiles bypassed Israeli air defenses as strikes hit regional targets. Tehran claims higher effectiveness despite fewer launches.
As tensions in the Middle East continue to intensify, the parties involved in the conflict say they are shifting to new methods of warfare. In Tehran, officials report that Iran has altered its tactics and deployed upgraded ballistic missiles against Israel-missiles they claim are capable of penetrating existing air defense systems.
Images circulating on social media increasingly show scenes from Israeli cities marked by extensive destruction and large impact craters. The Iranian news agency Tasnim reports that more than 90 percent of the missiles launched reached their intended targets. According to statements from Tehran, the operation also helped identify weak points in Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Iranian forces had managed to disable an American radar system with a coverage range of 5,000 kilometers. He indicated that Iranian specialists had identified vulnerabilities in the air defense network and that the long-range radar-described as part of a U.S. air defense system deployed in the region-had been damaged and taken out of operation.
Tehran also maintains that although the number of missile launches has declined compared with the opening days of the conflict, the effectiveness of the strikes has increased.
Reports have also emerged of explosions in Bahrain, home to the base of the U. S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet. Thick smoke was seen rising above a refinery belonging to the state oil and gas company. In addition, strikes were reported against American military facilities in Iraq and the United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile, the United States continues its military operation against Iran. U. S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that American forces remain fully in control of the situation. More than 50,000 U.S. troops are involved in the campaign, and strikes have reportedly targeted over 3,000 sites across Iranian territory.
For its part, Tehran emphasizes that it is relying on asymmetric tactics-focusing on identifying vulnerabilities and carrying out precise strikes rather than engaging in direct confrontation with American and Israeli forces.
