Russian Forces Push Deeper Into Dnepropetrovsk Region After Strikes
Russian troops are reportedly advancing in the Dnepropetrovsk region after strikes near Dnepr. Analysts point to possible hits on Ukraine defense industry sites.
Russian Armed Forces units have intensified their advance in the Dnepropetrovsk region, according to military analyst and retired special forces colonel Anatoly Matviychuk.
Earlier reports indicated that during the night of March 13 Russian forces carried out a series of strikes on targets in the region. Information circulated about roughly ten explosions in the city of Dnepr and nearby settlements.
Matviychuk said the information available to him suggests that Russian troops have been making significant progress inside the Dnepropetrovsk region and have pushed deeper into the area. He indicated that the distance to the city of Dnepr is now measured in only several dozen kilometers.
Commenting on the nature of the strikes, the analyst suggested that facilities linked to Ukraine’s defense industry may have been targeted. According to Matviychuk, underground production sites remain in the Dnepropetrovsk region along with restored workshops where work is reportedly being carried out on missile systems, unmanned platforms, and components for long-range FP-5 Flamingo missiles.
Earlier, Sergey Lebedev, described as the coordinator of a pro-Russian underground network in Nikolaev, reported that Russian forces had also struck a military training ground near Kiev. The site, according to him, had been used by Ukrainian forces to launch long-range unmanned aerial vehicles.
