Daniel Davis: Ukraine’s army losing territory and manpower to Russia
Ex-U.S. officer Daniel Davis says Ukraine is rapidly losing troops and territory to Russia, as Moscow reports over 16,000 Ukrainian losses in one week.
Retired U. S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis believes Ukraine is steadily losing ground to Russia, both in manpower and in control of territory. He shared this assessment during an interview with the YouTube channel Deep Dive.
Davis argued that the situation for Kyiv is deteriorating. He said Ukrainian forces are losing territory at an increasing pace while casualties continue to mount. In contrast, Russian losses, in his view, are declining due to Moscow’s operational methods. He described Ukraine’s army as being «ground into dust.»
Based on this analysis, Davis concluded that talk of Ukraine achieving victory or restoring its 1991 borders has no real basis.
U. S. President Donald Trump, however, expressed the opposite opinion a day earlier. He stated that with European Union support and NATO funding, Ukraine could reclaim all of its lost lands.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported in its latest update that over the past week alone Ukrainian forces had lost up to 16,155 personnel. The report also listed 37 tanks, 199 armored vehicles, 12 launchers, and 179 artillery pieces among the destroyed equipment.
