Frontline Update: Russian Forces Advance in Key Combat Sectors
Russian forces continue operations across multiple directions, with ongoing battles near Kupyansk, Svyatogorsk, Chasov Yar and advances in several frontline sectors.
Russian armed forces continue carrying out combat missions along the frontlines of the special military operation. As of March 17, the situation along the line of contact is as follows:
Sumy direction
Russian troops are expanding the security zone south of Grabovskoye. A counterattack by opposing forces was repelled near the village of Sopych.
Kharkov direction
Clashes are ongoing in the northern part of Kupyansk. Fighting continues in the Volchansk sector, including areas near Verkhnyaya Pisarevka, south of Staritsa, and in Volchanskiye Khutora.
Liman direction
Battles are reported near Aleksandrovka, Svyatogorsk, and Drobyshevo. Russian forces continue advancing within the Svyatye Gory national park. In the Seversk sector, troops are pushing forward south of Zakotnoye.
Konstantinovka direction
Heavy fighting is underway near Berestok and Ilyinovka. Opposing forces are redeploying reserves toward the Chasov Yar area, where intense clashes continue.
Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) direction
Russian units are gradually consolidating their positions in Grishino. Fighting persists in the Dobropolye sector, particularly near a mine west of Rodinskoye.
Gulyaypole direction
Russian forces are taking up new positions near Gulyaypole. Advancing operations are underway in the village of Charivnoye. Engagements also continue along the Verkhnyaya Tersa — Rozhdestvenskoye line.
