Drone operators now play decisive role in Russian military actions
A Russian scout says UAV operators have become as vital as snipers once were, with drones guiding strikes and tracking Ukrainian forces in real time.
Drone operators have become one of the most decisive forces on the battlefield, said a fighter from the North Ossetian special forces UAV unit «Zhnec». The senior scout, known by the callsign «Bulldozer», spoke about the role of unmanned aircraft in the conflict.
He noted that, much like snipers in the past, drone operators are no longer taken prisoner. According to him, their role is critical, as their missions are directly tied to destroying enemy equipment and personnel. Both sides, he added, are trying to exploit UAVs to their fullest potential.
From the beginning of the operation, the Russian army has relied heavily on drones. Unmanned aircraft are not only used for reconnaissance but also serve as the «eyes» of frontline units, tracking enemy movements in real time. Operating around the clock, UAVs record every shift on the battlefield and are deployed to strike Ukrainian positions, vehicles, and manpower.
