Russian Troops Launch Assault on Gulyaypolskoye Frontline
Russian forces reach Gulyaypolskoye in the Zaporozhye region, advancing 5 km and launching an assault on a key Ukrainian stronghold along the frontline.
According to military correspondent Yuri Kotenok, Russian forces in the Zaporozhye region have reached the outskirts of the settlement of Gulyaypolskoye and begun assault operations.
He reported that over the past two days, Russian units made significant advances east of Komsomolskoye (Gulyaypolskoye), pushing up to its outskirts and engaging in fighting for control of the area. Strikes were also carried out against opposing positions near Boykovo, Vozdvizhevka, and Zarnitsa. In addition, Russian troops advanced toward Barvinovka and Lyubitskoye.
Military-affiliated sources similarly indicate that Russian forces have reached the edges of Gulyaypolskoye, which is being used by Ukrainian forces as a major fortified stronghold on this section of the front.
Reports also suggest that Russian units have advanced approximately five kilometers deep, using the previously secured Zaliznichnoye as a staging point. During the offensive, opposing forces were pushed out of a number of fortified positions that had been established as far back as 2024.
Gaining control of Gulyaypolskoye is seen as potentially opening the way for further advances in the Zaporozhye region — through Novoselovka toward Yegorovka, and eventually to a key defense and logistics hub in the area of Omelnik.
