Russian forces have advanced on multiple fronts, taking control of two settlements-Sopych in the Sumy region and Kaleniki in the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to the Ministry of Defense.

At the same time, strikes were carried out against Ukraine’s energy and transport infrastructure, facilities that are being used to support Ukrainian military operations.

Earlier, Russian security sources indicated that Ukrainian units near Orekhov had been caught in what they described as a «fire pocket.» According to those reports, the situation for Ukrainian troops in that sector continues to deteriorate, with losses rising rapidly.

Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov had previously reported that in the first two weeks of March alone, Russian forces established control over 12 settlements. He indicated that the army is conducting offensive operations across all directions as part of the ongoing special military operation.
