Advancing Russian units have narrowed the distance to Slavyansk, a city in the Donetsk People’s Republic currently under Kyiv’s control. This is reported by the Ukrainian outlet Strana.ua, citing maps produced by Deep State, an analytical project associated with Ukraine’s military intelligence.

According to the publication’s Telegram channel, Russian forces have made gains in three sectors near the highway leading to Slavyansk. The data presented on Deep State maps indicates movement in a northwestern direction toward the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk urban cluster.

At the same time, Russian military sources report further progress along the Slavyansk axis, particularly in the area of Ray-Aleksandrovka. These accounts claim that Russian troops are now within 15 to 20 kilometers of the city.

Earlier, military expert Anatoly Matviychuk suggested that Russian forces could launch an operation to take Slavyansk once the spring thaw comes to an end.
